Our Fish QT Process
We take great pride in providing you with healthy, disease free fish. We ensure all fish are eating well, and all diseases are treated before releasing them for sale.
Our conditioning process starts from the moment the fish arrives. We acclimate them to our holding system's water parameters, and ensure they are all healthy and responsive. They are given a bath in formalin, followed by a freshwater dip. Then we hold them for a minimum two week observation and treatment period. All fish are fed with high quality frozen food that has Metroplex and Praziquantel mixed in it. This does an excellent job of removing any internal parasites. If any external lesions or wounds are present, we will treat with nitrafurazone and Paraguard. Most fish will be treated with chelated copper to prevent ich, but for more sensitive species, we use the tank transfer method.
If a fish is not healthy, eating well, and disease free, then it will not be posted for sale. If you'd like further information on how we handle specific diseases, please don't hesitate to contact us!
Live Arrival Guarantee
Well over 99% of our fish arrive alive and healthy. However, if any of your fish are Dead On Arrival (DOA), we will credit you the cost of the fish in the form of a discount code for your next purchase. We will credit the purchase price only; no credits on shipping charges.
Please inspect your fish prior to opening the bag and ensure it is swimming actively. If there are any concerns, take a picture and contact us as soon as possible, and no later than 2 hours after delivery. We require a clear picture of the fish in the bag for credit. Once you've opened the bag and begun acclimation, it is your responsibility to keep the fish healthy.
This policy only applies to fish that are delivered first attempt and on time. We do our best to ensure that the fish are packed for the weather conditions they will encounter, and will not ship if inclement weather is predicted along the path of travel. However, we can not be held liable for shipping delays due to weather or the shipping company.
